Connect Stripe (secret key, currency, taxes)
Collect payments on your own Stripe account: the money goes straight to you.
What it is for
Accept bank cards on your sales pages. Funnelix Market never touches your money.
Prerequisites and plan
An active Stripe account (ideally in test mode first).
Steps
- In Stripe: Developers › API keys; copy the “Secret key” (
sk_test_…in test,sk_live_…in production). Never copy the publishable key. - In Funnelix Market, open “Settings”, tab “Payments”, section “Stripe”.
- Paste the key into “Stripe secret key”, choose the “Currency” (CAD, USD, EUR, GBP, XOF, XAF), enter “Tax (%)” (0 to 30) and “Tax name”.
- Click “Save”, then “Test connection”.
- Then set up the webhook (next article).
Expected result
The block shows “Connected” with the key type (test or production) and the last 4 characters. The message “Connection to Stripe successful.” confirms the test.
Tips
- The key is encrypted and never shown again; leave the field empty to keep the current key.
- A restricted
rk_key is accepted. - Taxes are added to the displayed price; 0 = none.
- To stop collecting payments: “Disconnect Stripe”.
Common problems
“The Stripe secret key starts with sk_live_ or sk_test_ (or rk_ for a restricted key).”
You pasted a publishable key (pk_) or an incomplete key. Copy the secret key again.
“Stripe rejected the key. Check that it is complete and active.”
Key revoked, incomplete or Stripe account not activated.
“The tax rate must be a number between 0 and 30.”
Correct the percentage.
“Currency not supported.”
Use one of the six listed currencies.
“Payment is not available yet” on the sales page
No payment method is ready: connect Stripe or another gateway.
